The city’s authorities are rolling out a series of measures to support local enterprises, with a strong focus on trade promotion, market diversification, and leveraging new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs).

As reported by the Department of Industry and Trade, Da Nang’s main export items remain agricultural products, textiles and garments, leather footwear, computers, electronics and components, mobile phones and accessories, ceramics, and wood products.

Businesses in Da Nang have successfully expanded exports to more than 100 countries and territories, with key markets including ASEAN, the United States, the European Union, China, and Japan. While traditional markets remain important, enterprises are encouraged to explore new international markets and reach a wider customer base.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Quang, the Director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Central and Central Highlands branch, emphasized that the priority has been given to diversifying markets by region and FTA groups, providing support for training and consulting on quality standards, traceability, and new customs requirements, and connecting businesses with banking, credit, and logistics networks to reduce input costs.

In addition, strengthening collaboration between Vietnamese companies and foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises, especially multinational corporations already operating in Vietnam, is also a key focus.

Guidance on administrative procedures under new-generation FTAs will help enterprises navigate regulatory requirements efficiently.

Mr. Pham Bac Binh, the Chairman of the Da Nang Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, highlighted practical recommendations from the business community, including export credit and insurance support, trade promotion, market diversification and administrative reform to streamline processes, cut costs, and enhance transparency.

Throughout 2026, the Da Nang Trade Promotion and Industrial Encouragement Center will continue regularly providing information on trade promotion programmes and policies, inviting businesses to participate through multiple channels, and organizing 4 - 6 international trade fairs and business matching events annually.

The city will prioritise administrative reforms, help businesses take full advantage of FTAs, and support training and consulting for upgrading product standards.

By connecting enterprises with banking, credit, and logistics networks and addressing challenges in industrial zones, Da Nang aims to sustainably and inclusively grow its export sector, positioning local businesses to thrive in both existing and emerging markets.
