Da Nang: livable and highly welcoming city in Vietnam
DNO - Da Nang has long been affectionately described as a “livable city,” a title that has not come about by chance.

Friendliness and willingness to help visitors in need have become defining traits, shaping the image of a city that grows rapidly without losing its human touch.
A recent incident in the final days of the year offers a telling example. After completing a ride, a ride-hailing taxi driver, Nguyen Nhu Hai, born in 1977, discovered that a passenger had forgotten personal belongings in his vehicle.
The driver promptly brought the items to Hoa Cuong Ward Police, reporting the incident and asking for assistance in returning the property to its owner.
Following the report, local police acted swiftly. Officers verified information, coordinated with relevant parties, and traced the identity, travel route and accommodation of the foreign passenger. Within a short time, the owner of the lost property was identified, and the belongings were returned.
The visitor, visibly relieved and moved, expressed sincere gratitude for the driver’s integrity and the professionalism and dedication of the ward police officers.
Though modest in scale, such actions leave a lasting impression. They quietly reinforce trust and send a powerful message about safety, responsibility and kindness in Da Nang.
Stories like this help explain why Da Nang continues to be favoured by both domestic and international travelers. The city’s appeal lies not only in its peaceful beaches and scenic coastline, but also in the warmth of its residents.
It is this sense of closeness and hospitality that encourages visitors to return, transforming short stays into lasting memories.

The local tourism sector, in turn, places growing emphasis on ensuring that every journey and experience is safe, welcoming and meaningful.
Da Nang’s reputation has also been recognized through major awards and public votes. The city was recently honored with a dual distinction as a Smart City and a Livable City.
In the Livable City category, Da Nang stood out among many localities, securing 70 percent of the votes nationwide across seven criteria: governance, transportation, environment, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, security and the digital economy.
Notably, this recognition was based on public voting, reflecting citizens’ rising concern for urban quality of life and confidence in Da Nang as a destination and a place to settle.
At the same time, Da Nang is not standing still. Alongside environmental protection and tourism development, the city is positioning itself at the forefront of emerging industries, including semiconductor manufacturing and artificial intelligence, while laying foundations for a regional financial hub.
These efforts demonstrate a forward-looking vision that balances economic ambition with social well-being.
The trust and affection shown by residents and visitors alike are both recognition and responsibility. To sustain its status as a city “worth living in and worth visiting”, Da Nang continues to pursue comprehensive solutions to ensure a civilized, safe and inclusive tourism environment.
The satisfaction and confidence of travellers remain the most tangible rewards for years of persistent effort, affirming Da Nang’s place as one of Vietnam’s most livable and welcoming cities.
