Sharp rise in visitors to Da Nang during New Year Holiday 2026
DNO - According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the organization of a series of major New Year celebrations, coupled with attractive tourism stimulus programs and favorable weather conditions, contributed to a significant increase in the visitor arrivals to Da Nang during the 2026 New Year holiday.

During the 4-day break for the New Year holiday 2026, the total number of tourists was estimated at 630,000, up over 25% compared to the same period in 2025. Of this figure, international arrivals reached approximately 345,000, an increase of 23%, while domestic visitors totaled about 285,000, up 29%.
The city’s tourism sector earned an estimate of VND 2,445 billion, an increase of over 30% compared to the same period last year.
The average occupancy rate across the city was estimated at around 70%, an increase of over 10% compared to the same period in 2025. In particular, four- and five-star hotels and equivalent facilities recorded an average occupancy rate of 80%, with several high-end beachfront hotels and key tourist areas exceeding 90%.
International guests accounted for 70 - 80%, with major source markets including South Korea, China, Taiwan (China), India, Japan, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Australia and Thailand.
Meanwhile, accommodation establishments rated three stars and below reported occupancy rates of about 50% - 60%. Domestic tourists remained the primary customer base for this segment, while international visitors accounted for around 20% - 30%.
During the holiday period, the total number of international and domestic flights to Da Nang stood at 908, with an average of 151 flights per day including 83 domestic and 68 international flights.
Specifically, the city recorded approximately 495 domestic flights, up 26.9%, and 413 international flights, marking a 21.8% rise over the same period last year.
