What powers Da Nang’s tourism appeal
In 2025, Da Nang welcomed an estimated 17.3 million visitors, including more than 7.6 million international arrivals, while tourism revenue reached nearly VND 60 trillion (approximately US$2.4 billion).
The industry also generated employment for tens of thousands of workers, underscoring its role as a key driver of the city’s economic recovery and long-term development.
According to Nguyen Son Thuy, the Director of Indochina Unique Tourism Co., Da Nang’s success in 2025 was underpinned by its strong destination brand and the close coordination between local authorities, businesses and residents.
The expansion and integration of the city’s tourism space has opened up new development opportunities, enhancing Da Nang’s competitiveness compared to other regional destinations.
In particular, Da Nang continues to benefit from a well-developed transport network spanning air, sea, rail, road and inland waterways, supported by effective destination promotion and an increasingly diverse range of tourism products.
The city caters to both mass-market travelers and high-end segments, including MICE, golf, beach resorts, Halal tourism and green tourism, offering visitors a broad spectrum of experience.
A key growth engine has been the expansion of international air connectivity. In 2025, Da Nang handled more than 48,000 flights, up 12.4% year-on-year, including over 20,200 international flights.
The city currently maintains 26 regular routes, of which 18 are international, with the restoration and launch of strategic routes such as Osaka (Japan), Yangon (Myanmar) and Dubai (UAE) helping attract a growing number of overseas travelers.
Sea-based tourism has also gained momentum, with 36 cruise ship calls bringing more than 43,000 passengers to Da Nang, an increase of over 21%.
Meanwhile, rail and inland waterway services served nearly 1.5 million passengers, up 6.2%, maintaining steady growth across transport modes.
Da Nang’s tourism ecosystem is underpinned by a large and dynamic business community, with more than 700 travel companies, 2,260 accommodation establishments offering nearly 66,000 rooms, and around 6,800 licensed tour guides. Many operators reported solid growth in 2025.

Target strong tourism growth in 2026
Looking ahead, Da Nang aims to welcome 19.5 million overnight visitors in 2026, a rise of 10.5% compared to 2025, including 8.7 million international visitors.
Revenue from accommodation, food services and travel is projected to reach VND 70 trillion, up more than 15% year-on-year.
According to Truong Thi Hong Hanh, the Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, focu will be on destination marketing, demand-stimulus programmes, digital transformation for tourism businesses and workforce development.
Priority will also be given to diversifying tourism products and expanding into high-potential markets such as the Middle East and CIS countries.
Da Nang is positioning itself as a high-quality, green and innovative tourism hub, offering visitors a destination where beaches, heritage, culture and modern services converge, making it an increasingly compelling choice for travelers in 2026 and beyond.
