Heartwarming story: Da Nang beach staff help tourist recover lost engagement ring
DNO - A female tourist who dropped her engagement ring on a Da Nang beach has had it returned thanks to the dedicated support of the city’s tourism order management team.

The Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches announced on December 15 that its staff had recently helped a female tourist recover valuable property lost on the beach, contributing to building the image of Da Nang as a friendly and safe tourist destination.
Earlier, at around 5:00 am on December 14, Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Linh sought assistance from the Da Nang Tourism Order Management Team. According to her report, she had dropped a two-tael gold ring, worth approximately VND 30 million, at 9:00 pm on December 13 while strolling on the beach in front of the East Sea Park.
Despite searching for hours with her family, she was unable to find the ring and turned to local authorities as a last hope. The ring, she explained, was a gift from her mother at her engagement ceremony and held deep sentimental value.
Search efforts through the night
Upon receiving the information, Mr. Ho Thang Tuoi, the staff member on duty at the time immediately contacted two colleagues, Mr. Phan Thanh Trinh and Mr. Pham Nhu Dong, to organize a search. Although on leave, Mr. Trinh, who has experience in searching for metal objects on beaches in Da Nang, promptly came to assist.
On the morning of December 14, after nearly an hour using a specialized metal detector, the team discovered the ring buried deep beneath the sand. By 6:00 am, the ring was successfully found and returned to the female tourist.
Mr. Trinh shared “When we learned that the ring was a keepsake of great emotional significance to Ms. Linh, we were even more determined to find it at all costs”.
This is not the first time Da Nang’s beach management staff have helped tourists recover lost property.
In late July, Mr. Trinh and Mr. Dong assisted an Australian tourist in finding a diamond ring worth approximately US$2,000.
Over the years, the team has helped hundreds of domestic and international tourists recover their lost belongings, contributing to reinforce a safe and welcoming tourism environment in Da Nang.
