Da Nang’s tourism gets major boost with Christmas and New Year 2026 festivities

DNO - An array of activities, events, and promotional programs will take place across Da Nang to stimulate tourism at year end. These efforts are expected to provide a strong boost to the city’s appeal, paving the way for a promising year ahead for the local tourism sector.

Vibrant New Year Festival

These days, a 20-meter-high Christmas tree is taking shape at the eastern bank of the Han River Park, with festive decorations such as Santa Claus figures, reindeer sleighs, candy canes, snow houses and snowmen. The site is expected to become a popular check-in spot for visitors during the Christmas season.

Meanwhile, the colorful ambience of Hoi An is created through dazzling traditional lanterns installed at the An Hoi Sculpture Garden on Nguyen Phuc Chu Street, Hoi An Ward.

According to Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this year’s festival spaces have been expanded, featuring a variety of special activities.

The highlight of the festival is the "Da Nang - Welcome New Year 2026" Boulevard, scheduled to take place over three nights, from December 30, 2025 to January 1, 2026 on the Bach Dang Walking Street.

With a harmonious combination of art, creativity, and entertainment, the "Da Nang - Welcome New Year 2026" Boulevard will transform the Bach Dang Walking Street into a vibrant gathering place for community interaction and connection, where locals and tourists can immerse themselves in the lively festive atmosphere to welcome a new year full of hope.

For the first time in Da Nang, a large-scale night run themed “Lighting Up the Han River - Running Toward the Future” will be held from 10:00 pm to midnight on December 31, 2025 as part of the New Year 2026 celebrations.

Boosting tourism demand

To mark the New Year, tourism businesses, service and accommodation providers, restaurants, tourist attractions, and travel companies citywide have rolled out many promotional programs to stimulate travel demand.

The Hoiana Resort & Golf (Hoiana), for instance, is hosting a festive culinary journey at its restaurants, many fun activities for children, along with a vibrant countdown party and dazzling fireworks by the beach on New Year's Eve to welcome 2026.

In the lively atmosphere of the festive season, the Wyndham Danang Golden Bay is organizing a series of culinary and entertainment programs for Christmas and New Year 2026, ranging from festive afternoon teas and Christmas dinners to New Year buffet parties and a countdown night at the hotel’s highest open-air venue.

To celebrate its fifth anniversary of Mikazuki 365 Water Park (December 23), the Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa is offering a 50% discount on entrance tickets for all guests with birthdays in December.

According to Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, a series of attractive and meaningful festive activities organize in public areas, along with New Year celebrations at accommodation establishments and tourist attractions, are expected to attract a large number of visitors to Da Nang at year-end.

These festivals are set to leave a strong impression, spreading warmth and optimism while welcoming a vibrant and successful New Year 2026, further reinforcing Da Nang’s position as a leading festival destination in the region.
