Three Vietnamese coffee drinks named among Southeast Asia’s top 10 beverages: TasteAtlas
DNO - Iced milk coffee, iced black coffee, and egg coffee from Vietnam have been named in the list of top 10 best drinks in Southeast Asia, according to the renowned food magazine TasteAtlas.

Vietnam continues to make a strong mark on the international culinary map, especially in Southeast Asia, as three coffee drinks have been honored by Taste Atlas in its list of 62 best beverages in the region.
In the list, Vietnamese iced milk coffee ranks 3rd. TasteAtlas describes it as a harmonious combination of strong coffee, condensed milk, and ice, creating an irresistible characteristic flavor.
The bold bitterness of the coffee is softened by the sweet and creamy taste of condensed milk, combined with the coolness of ice, providing a quintessentially Vietnamese experience.
Vietnamese black coffee ranks 6th on the list. Although black coffee is popular worldwide, TasteAtlas notes that Vietnam’s distinctive ingredients and brewing traditions set it apart.
Egg coffee, the iconic specialty of Hanoi, also makes it into the top 10. It is described as a rich and indulgent drink that combines Robusta coffee with a velvety cream made from whipped egg yolks and condensed milk. The egg mixture is whipped for about 10 minutes and then heated until smooth and creamy, forming its signature foam.
Egg coffee originated in the 1950s and remains one of the capital's most popular drinks.
Besides the top 10, many other Vietnamese drinks earn high rankings such as lotus tea (12th place), iced yogurt (23rd), ‘tao meo’ apple wine (26th), Can wine - a type of wine stored in a big jar and drunk with long bamboo straws (29th), and black glutinous rice wine (31st).
Other innovative coffee creations such as salt coffee and coconut coffee were also included in the rankings, highlighting the diversity and creativity of Vietnam’s beverage culture.
