Da Nang calls on US firms to increase investment in major sectors

Deputy Secretary Vinh provided an overview of the city’s socio-economic situation and its development orientation, with focus on the development of a free trade zone and an international financial center, plus hi-tech, semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) industries in which US partners have many strengths.
He voiced his hope that the US diplomat will act as a bridge to encourage investors from her country to invest in Da Nang, especially in such aspects as science, technology and AI.
He also asked for cooperation support from US universities to open up more learning opportunities for local students.

For her part, Consul General Melissa A. Brown thanked the city leader for his warm hospitality. She also highly appreciated the active support of the Da Nang government in welcoming US military ships on diplomatic visits to the city in recent times.
The US guest emphasized that her visit aimed to promote economic cooperation between Da Nang and US partners, especially appealing for more US businesses to participate in the free trade zone and international financial center in the city.
She revealed that lots of US businesses showed their keen interest in expanding operations in Da Nang. In addition, the US government wished to enhance people-to-people exchange activities and foster extensive cooperation in areas of mutual interest with the city in the time ahead.
