Vietnam aims for top-30 global logistics ranking: PM urges
DNO - Vietnam is accelerating its logistics transformation, with Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh affirming a bold vision to place the country among the world’s top 30 logistics performers by 2035.

Logistics positioned for breakthrough growth
At the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2025 held in Da Nang on November 29, PM Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed the Vietnamese Government’s commitment to elevating the logistics sector as a strategic pillar of national competitiveness.
The PM highlighted the Vietnamese Government’s action motto of ‘Five Connectivity’: open institutions, seamless infrastructure, smart governance, standardized practices, and collaborative synergy.
This approach aims to propel Vietnam into the world’s top 30 in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) by 2035.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that logistics acts as the “lifeblood” of the Vietnamese economy, connecting production, circulation, consumption, import and export.

Vietnam’s dynamic position in a fast-growing region, coupled with its highly open economy, ranking third in ASEAN and 32nd globally, gives it strong potential to expand logistics services.
With a market of over 100 million consumers and access to nearly 6 billion through 17 FTAs, the country has seen both trade turnover and e-commerce grow at double-digit rates over the past five to six years.
Vietnam’s logistics sector has expanded rapidly, growing 14 - 16% annuall, more than twice the global average.
The industry is now valued at USD 45 - 50 billion, equivalent to about 10% of GDP and 5% of total import-export turnover, firmly strengthening Vietnam’s regional and global standing.
By 2025, the country was ranked among the world’s top 10 emerging logistics markets, placed fourth in the region for logistics opportunities, and entered the top five in ASEAN and top 40 worldwide in logistics performance.
The Da Nang Logistics Association launched
The Da Nang Logistics Association (DLA) has been officially launched, marking an important milestone in the city’s ambition to become a leading logistics hub in Central Vietnam.
The association brings together local logistics providers, connects them with national and international partners, and supports policy dialogue, professional training and industry standards.
Advancing green, digital and high-value logistics
In his keynote speech, PM Chinh called for rapid expansion of green and digital logistics infrastructure as Vietnam enters a period of technological advancement, climate transition and shifting global supply chains.

Looking ahead, he stressed the need to develop low-carbon supply chains, promote circular economy practices such as packaging recycling, strengthen carbon management and maintain a high value-added ratio of 20 - 25% by 2030.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade is in charge of ensuring effective implementation of the 2025 - 2035 Logistics Development Strategy and improving inter-ministerial coordination to restructure supply chains and enhance competitiveness.

Da Nang must lead with bold, pioneering models, particularly the development of a Free Trade Zone, an International Financial Centre, and a smart urban logistics ecosystem.
The city should focus on completing regional logistics hubs and maximizing the advantages of the Free Trade Zone.
The forum witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements among logistics enterprises, commendations for outstanding organizations and individuals.
