Da Nang's leaders attend celebration of Laos's 50th National Day
DNO - The Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang held a banquet on Friday evening to celebrate the 50th National Day of Laos (December 2, 1975 - 2025), the 105th birth anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane (December 13, 1920 - 2025), and the 80th anniversary of the Lao diplomatic service (October 12, 1945 - 2025).

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh extended congratulations to the Party, State, Government and people of Laos, plus the officials and staff of the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang on this important event.
He also expressed Da Nang’s delight at the great and comprehensive achievements the Lao Party, State, and people have gained over the past 50 years, particularly in maintaining political stability, ensuring national defence and security, promoting socio-economic development, and improving the people's living standards.
Deputy Secretary Vinh also wished that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam in general, especially between the Party Committees, governments, and people of Da Nang and south-central provinces of Laos will remain evergreen and everlasting.

In his speech at the event, Consul General of Laos in Da Nang Souphanh Hadaoheuang recalled that 50 years ago, on December 2, 1975, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic was founded, marking an important new era in the nation’s history.
He also highlighted his country’s outstanding achievements, ranging from political stability and improved social welfare to sustainable economic growth, over the past five decades, especially since the implementation of the renewal process in 1986.
Notably, Laos has so far established diplomatic ties with 151 countries. The Lao People's Revolutionary Party has maintained relations with 145 parties in 85 countries around the world. Laos has also engaged in trade relations with 163 countries and members of international organizations.

Currently, the country has established 20 friendship associations with foreign countries and one Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity with foreign partners.
Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang noted that Vietnam is currently the third-largest investor in Laos, with total investment exceeding US$ 7 billion.
In particular, Da Nang and the provinces of Central and Central Highlands Vietnam have strengthened cooperation in trade and investment with south-central localities of Laos, especially in the fields of energy (wind power, solar power, power plants), transport, agriculture, forestry, services, rural infrastructure development, education, culture, and tourism.

In addition, Da Nang and the provinces of Central and Central Highlands Vietnam have supported the construction of Laos - Vietnam friendship schools, general schools and vocational schools; as well as sponsored human resource training for many Lao provinces.
He also expressed deep gratitude for the valuable support that Viet Nam in general and Da Nang in particular has provided for Laos throughout the years and pledged to continue making positive contributions to preserving and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
