The assessment highlights key factors such as safety, ease of transportation, local hospitality, and the richness of cultural and natural experiences.

Travel + Leisure notes that solo travel is becoming a major global trend as more people seek freedom, self-discovery, and personalized journeys.

In this context, Vietnam stands out as a destination offering a “well-rounded experience” for solo adventurers, combining breathtaking landscapes, authentic cultural encounters, diverse cuisine, and a welcoming environment.

Travel + Leisure assessed: “Endless adventure and dishes to tantalize your taste buds await in Vietnam. Hop on a boat that departs from Hạ Long Bay and cruise through Bai Tu Long Bay, home to some of the world's most striking blue water and natural landscapes.

Take a guided tour of Son Doong, the largest natural cave in the world. Visit Hoi An during the full moon and you'll be welcomed by the awe-inspiring sight of hundreds of lanterns floating down the Thu Bon River in the city's monthly full moon festival”.

“In Ho Chi Minh City, you can indulge in ‘banh xeo’ (a crispy, filled rice flour pancake) and steaming bowls of pho at Ben Thanh Market, one of the city’s earliest surviving structures.

Or, brush up on Vietnam War history during a tour of the War Remnants Museum and the Cu Chi Tunnels. Travel to Hanoi to explore the capital’s impressive historical and cultural sites, and take a leisurely stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake”, Travel + Leisure added.

In 2024, UK-based Time Out listed Vietnam among the world’s nine safest destinations for solo female travellers, the only Southeast Asian country included.

The publication pointed to Vietnam’s political stability, low violent crime rate, and diverse cultural heritage as key strengths. It also recommended stops in Hue and Hoi An along the popular north-south travel route.

With growing international recognition, Vietnam is reinforcing its image as a safe, engaging, and culturally rich destination for solo travelers worldwide.

Vietnam welcomes 1.73 million international visitors in October

As reported by VNA, according to the General Department of Statistics under the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam received 1.73 million international visitors in October, marking an increase of 13.8% compared with the previous month and 22.1% year-on-year.

In the first 10 months of 2025, the country welcomed nearly 17.2 million international arrivals, up 21.5% from the same period last year.

The strong performance reflects Vietnam’s growing appeal as a safe, dynamic and culturally rich destination, supported by improved connectivity, diverse tourism products and continued recovery of global travel demand.
