In the wake of recent severe flooding in Da Nang, the leaders of Sekong, Champasak, and Salavan provinces in southern Laos have expressed their sympathy for the difficulties and losses faced by Da Nang people.

At the Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse, they affirmed that the Party, authorities, and people of their provinces stand in solidarity and are ready to join hands with Da Nang to overcome these challenges.

As part of this support, the three provinces contributed a total of VND700 million to Da Nang to assist in addressing the flood damages, with Sekong providing VND300 million, Champasak VND200 million, and Salavan VND200 million to help the Vietnamese city address the flood-related damages.

On behalf of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, as well as Da Nang in particular, Consul General of Vietnam in Pakse Ta Phuong Dung extended sincere thanks to the leaders of the Laotian provinces, emphasizing that this timely support is a significant encouragement and vividly demonstrates the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

Following discussions between the Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse and the Da Nang People’s Committee, on November 17, 2025, the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs issued a formal request to transfer the full amount of support to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang. This ensures the funds are promptly allocated to assist local residents affected by the natural disaster.
