The event was co-organized by the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports, and the Delivering Asia.
In her opening speech delivered at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that Da Nang is a destination rich in identity and potential. It was not only a "gateway" and a key distribution hub for tourists in Central Vietnam but also one of the country’s tourism growth poles.
The city also played a vital role as a "bridge" linking tourism development in the North Central region with the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands.
She also highlighted some of the city’s advantages after the recent administrative merger. In particular, Da Nang has become the city with the longest coastline in the country with more than 200km. It is also home to the largest number of UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage sites in Vietnam, with three World Cultural Heritage sites: Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary and Marble Mountains.
The city is also proud of its rich and diverse ecosystem, including many prominent conservation areas and national parks such as the Cu Lao Cham World Biosphere Reserve and the Son Tra Peninsula.
The city's tourism infrastructure system has been synchronously invested on a large scale, attracting many international brands and investors. With more than 2,200 accommodation establishments offering over 64,000 rooms in total, 650 travel agencies, more than 200 historical relics and 200 tourist spots, Da Nang possesses extremely rich tourism development potential.
She also highlighted the event served as an important forum for state management agencies, corporations, tourism firms, and the tourism and media community to exchange and discuss multi-dimensional perspectives, thereby contributing to shaping the future of the city's tourism industry.
