Da Nang seafood exporters chart new markets, strengthen global presence
DNO - Seafood enterprises Da Nang-wide are demonstrating remarkable adaptability as they expand beyond traditional markets such as the United States, the European Union and Japan.

By exploring new opportunities in Asia, the Middle East, and South America, local processors are steadily increasing their global footprint while enhancing domestic competitiveness.
For years, the Bac Dau Co., Ltd. has been a trusted partner for clients in China, South Korea and Thailand, specializing in value-added seafood such as squid, shrimp, and mackerel cakes, as well as refined ingredients for popular Asian products like imitation crab sticks.
“Besides exports, we have focused more on processed seafood for the domestic market in recent years, as consumer demand continues to grow,” said Tran Thi Hong Thu, the company’s Managing Director.
“We’ve moved from exporting raw materials to producing high-value processed products that meet international standards and improve profitability", Thu added.
At Danifoods, investments in advanced processing lines have opened access to new markets, including Muslim-majority countries, while enhancing competitiveness against other leading seafood-exporting nations.
These developments highlight Da Nang’s steady progress in securing market stability and long-term export growth.

Da Nang’s aquaculture area spans more than 8,200 hectares, with an annual output of 30,000 - 35,000 tonnes.
As of November 2025, Da Nang had issued 43 EU export certificates covering over 437 tonnes of seafood products.
The sector remains one of the city’s leading export earners, contributing significantly to sustainable growth and rural livelihoods.
In an attempt to support businesses amid global challenges, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade is intensifying market intelligence sharing, training on export regulations, and promoting participation in international fairs.
It is also encouraging digital transformation and cross-border e-commerce to optimize supply chains and access new consumer bases.
Given coordinated efforts from both government and industry, Da Nang’s seafood sector is poised to maintain its status as a key export pillar, one that blends tradition with innovation and adapts swiftly to the changing tides of the global market.
