Da Nang leader receives Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture Governor

DNO - Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Nam Hung warmly received Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture on Thursday during his working visit to the city.

Vice Chairman Tran Nam Hung briefed his guest on the city’s investment and cooperation potential following its recent administrative merger, including a synchronous infrastructure system, international airports, a deep-water seaport, and famous scenic spots.

He also informed that the municipal authorities have been preparing technical infrastructure and high-quality human resources for realizing its goal of becoming one of the country’s growth poles.

He also talked about the Central Government’s attention in issuing many specific mechanisms and policies for the city, especially the establishment of the International Financial Center and the Free Trade Zone.

Currently, many foreign investors are showing their keen interest in learning about cooperation opportunities in the city, he added.

Vice Chairman Hung highly praised the positive contributions of Japanese enterprises to Da Nang, acknowledging Da Nang as a favorite destination for Japanese travelers.

He expressed his hope that in the coming time, the two localities will implement specific working and cooperation programs, thereby reinforcing the bilateral friendship and cooperation relationship.

He also suggested that the two sides soon sign memoranda of understanding to support each other towards sustainable development.

In reply, Governor Kuroiwa Yuji thanked the leaders of Da Nang for their warm welcome and expressed his sympathy for the losses suffered by residents during the floods in late October.

He also promised to make more efforts to encourage more Japanese businesses to visit and explore investment opportunities in Da Nang in the time to come.
