Da Nang expects 140 flights per day in early 2026 amid tourism boom
DNO - Da Nang is forecast to handle an average of 140 - 142 flights per day during the peak travel season from December 2025 to February 2026.
The surge is attributed to growing demand from key source markets such as South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and the Philippines, driven by the festive and New Year holiday period.
Addressing the recent “Da Nang Professional Chef” competition, Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, the Director of the centre, said the increase reflects Da Nang’s growing appeal as a leading tourism and aviation hub in central Vietnam.
In 2026, Da Nang’s tourism sector aims to open one to two new international routes to the Chu Lai Airport, while expanding partnerships with international airlines serving the Da Nang International Airport.
The city will also intensify promotion campaigns in Northeast and Southeast Asian markets, focusing on destinations with strong travel demand during the year-end festive season.
The city expects to welcome 19.5 million visitors in 2026, up 12% from 2025, including 8.9 million international arrivals (up 17%) and 10.6 million domestic tourists (up 8%).
Total revenue from accommodation, food services and travel is projected to exceed VND 71 trillion, a 19% year-on-year increase.
The expansion of flight networks as a “key lever” to drive Da Nang’s tourism growth, enabling the city to strengthen its position as a vibrant, welcoming, and globally connected destination.
With its strategic location and robust air connectivity, Da Nang is poised to become one of Southeast Asia’s top tourist gateways in the coming years.
