Da Nang enhances cooperation with Japan’s Kansai region
DNO - On November 7, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi met with the President of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Kansai region Nishimura Teiichi.

Vice Chairwoman Thi praised the strong development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Japan since 2023, noting that relations have continued to flourish.
She emphasized that Japan remains one of Da Nang’s leading partners in the fields of economy, culture, and education.
The city has established friendship and cooperation ties with 6 Japanese localities: Kawasaki, Sakai, Yokohama, Kisarazu, Kinokawa, and Nagasaki Prefecture.
She reaffirmed Da Nang’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Japan in high-quality human resource training, smart city development, heritage conservation, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Also, Vice Chairwoman Thi encouraged further promote cooperation in high-quality human resource training and to support Da Nang workers seeking employment opportunities in Japan.
She urged stronger efforts to enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges and to promote Da Nang’s image more widely in Japan.

The Vietnamese city always hopes to receive Japanese technical and financial support for the restoration of cultural heritage sites, particularly Hoi An Ancient Town and the Japanese Covered Bridge, both emblematic of long-standing Vietnam - Japan ties.
Mr. Nishimura thanked Da Nang’s leaders for their warm welcome and expressed sympathy for local communities affected by recent floods.
He highly commended Da Nang’s potential in high technology, tourism, infrastructure development, international finance, and semiconductor production.
The Japanese official also pledged to continue serving as a bridge to strengthen cooperation between Japan and Da Nang.
He added that he would promote Da Nang as an attractive investment destination for Kansai-based enterprises and encourage greater cultural and social exchanges to further deepen ties between the two sides.
As reported by Vietnam News Agency, Kansai-based enterprises account for about 30% of Japan’s total investment in Vietnam and roughly 25% of bilateral trade turnover.
Kansai also leads Japan in locality-to-locality ties with Vietnam, maintaining over 10 friendship partnerships with Vietnamese localities.
