Da Nang expands ties with Swiss partners
DNO - Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh, on Tuesday, met with Thomas Gass, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Vietnam, and Philipp Rösler, Chairman of the Switzerland -Vietnam Economic Forum (SVEF), during their working visit to Da Nang.

Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh warmly welcomed the Swiss delegation and expressed Da Nang’s honour to host the 2025 Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum on November 4. He stated that after the recent merger, Da Nang now enjoys greater development space and special policies to boost international cooperation and investment in trade, tourism, science and technology, and innovation.
Da Nang is currently prioritising the development of seaports, aviation and logistics, high-tech industries, information technology, electronics, telecommunications, semiconductors, and high-tech agriculture and aquaculture.
At the Switzerland - Vietnam Economic Forum, the Da Nang People’s Committee will sign a cooperation agreement with the Switzerland - Vietnam Economic Forum, marking a new step in strengthening ties with Swiss and European partners.
Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh invited Ambassador Thomas Gass to help promote cooperation between Da Nang and Swiss localities and asked SVEF Chairman Philipp Rösler to connect Swiss financial experts to advise on the city’s planned International Financial Center.
Ambassador Gass praised Da Nang’s growth potential, conveyed sympathy over recent flood damage, and pledged to encourage Swiss investors to explore opportunities in the city. He expressed confidence that the forum would pave the way for deeper, more effective cooperation between the two sides.
