Da Nang calls on German businesses to invest in Free Trade Zone and International Financial Center

Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Pham Duc An made the affirmation at his reception on Monday for Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, the German Ambassador to Vietnam.

Chairman An said that, in recent years, Da Nang and central regional localities have maintained active cooperative relationships with German states, especially Central German.

He informed that after its recent administrative merger and expansion, Da Nang has a larger area and a population of over 3 million people, adding more space and opportunities for investment attraction.

Currently, the total foreign investment capital in Da Nang has grown relatively good, however, the number of projects funded by German enterprises is still modest.

The city leader, therefore, voiced his hope that Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth will continue serving as a bridge to encourage more German enterprises to explore, invest and cooperate in Da Nang, especially in areas where the city has been assigned national development priorities, such as establishing an international financial center and free trade zones, and expanding logistics services.

For her part, Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth expressed her impression of Da Nang's development potential and dynamic style. She noted that the cooperative relationships between Da Nang and German localities have been progressing positively.

She affirmed that Germany will continue to appeal for German businesses to expand their investment in Da Nang, especially in key sectors.

The German diplomat expressed her desire to establish an Honorary Consulate Office of Germany in Da Nang in the future to enhance citizen support and foster bilateral cooperation.
