Foreign tourists return to Da Nang’s Hoi An after floods
DNO - Although some streets of the Hoi An Ancient Town in Da Nang are still flooded, a large number of international tourists flock to the venue to explore and experience local services.

On Saturday afternoon, many foreign tour groups were seen strolling along some streets of Hoi An, especially Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Tran Phu streets.
Although such popular tourist attractions as the Japanese Covered Bridge and Quang Trieu Assembly Hall remained closed, visitors stood outside to admire the sites and took check-in photos. Notably, some restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops reopened to serve visitors.

According to Mrs. Hua Thi Anh, the owner of the Ot Ta Restaurant located on Tran Phu Street, flooding had forced most businesses in Hoi An to close, leading tourists to gather in the ancient town.
“Many groups of tourists asked me to open the restaurant because most of the services in Hoi An have not yet resumed. Even though there’s no electricity in the old town yet, I used a generator to welcome guests. I believe this is one way to show the hospitality of Hoi An people,” Mrs. Anh shared.

As of 5:00 pm on November 1, Mrs. Anh’s restaurant had served about 80 diners, most of whom were foreigners. The restaurant became a place for tourists to rest after sightseeing and experiencing the ancient town, so everyone was happy and satisfied.
According to a representative of the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, the return of foreign tourists despite the recent floods proves the attractiveness of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
