Spreading heritage values through artworks
DNO - The international art camp “Heartbeat of Heritage” not only serves as a bridge connecting artists worldwide but also spreads cultural and artistic values to the community.
A creative space for artistic expression
From October 27 to November 10, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum becomes a vibrant cultural venue where art lovers can admire outstanding works from the “Heartbeat of Heritage” international art camp, which was held from October 20 to 26 at Nghe Resort, Hoi An.
The international art camp was considered an art event that helped promote Vietnam as a destination rich in creativity and heritage.
Featuring works by 40 artists from 12 countries, including Canada, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam the event offers a vivid blend of emotion, technique, and heritage as seen through contemporary art.
Highlights of the exhibition include 'The Last Night' by Katrin Hamann from Germany, 'Lantern Festival' by Manuel Manny Baldemor from the Philippines, and 'Preserve the Living Heritage' by Asha Dangol from Nepal. Strong Eastern cultural themes richly infuse each piece.
Vietnamese artists, such as Tran Van Binh with 'Stork Wings in Folk Verses' and Tran Van Tam with 'Flow of Heritage', add distinctive national perspectives.
Honouring painting and connecting talents
Working in open spaces inspired by Hoi An’s cultural heritage, they created artworks that blended nature, creativity, and cultural exchange. Workshops and public sessions fostered collaboration and allowed visitors to experience art in motion.
American artist Carolyn Muskat expressed her honour at collaborating with international peers and delving into Vietnam’s vibrant culture, which led to a variety of perspectives and artistic expressions.
Artist Tran Manh Linh, President of Asia Art Link, highlighted the organisation's goal of fostering connections between artists, institutions, and the public through an increased number of workshops and exhibitions.
He thanked Da Nang’s relevant agencies for their support, saying that the camp strengthened ties between Vietnamese and international artists while promoting Vietnam’s heritage to the world.
