Expanding Da Nang’s logistics infrastructure potential
DNO - The UNC Global 2025 Conference, co-hosted by Uconnect Network and International Logistics Corporation, was held in Da Nang to boost global supply chain cooperation and innovation.
Da Nang, a transit hub
Da Nang sits at the intersection of the North-South axis and the East-West Economic Corridor, linking Vietnam with Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, South Asia, and Northeast Asia, and serving as a key gateway to the Pacific.
The city is developing modern, multimodal logistics infrastructure, attracting international investors expanding into Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Spanning nearly 12,000 km² with over 3 million people, skilled labour, and strong infrastructure, Da Nang offers ideal conditions for trade, manufacturing, and tourism.
Da Nang features all major transport modes. Its Da Nang and Chu Lai international airports are being upgraded for high-value air cargo, while Tien Sa, Lien Chieu, and Chu Lai ports strengthen sea connectivity. Together, these facilities support Central Vietnam’s logistics growth and regional trade.
With two airports, two Class-I seaports, and the Nam Giang International Border Gate, Da Nang enjoys seamless regional connectivity, positioning it as a central economic and transhipment hub.
Therefore, Da Nang is a natural logistics hub for both domestic and Greater Mekong Subregion cargo headed to global markets.
New growth drivers
Vietnam’s logistics development strategy 2025 - 2035 positions Da Nang as a key logistics hub in Central Vietnam, linking Quang Tri -Hue - Da Nang with Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. The city is set to pilot a Free Trade Zone, boosting logistics capacity.
Da Nang's authorities also identify logistics as a core industry alongside manufacturing. With 16 industrial parks, a high-tech park, two IT zones, and 56 industrial clusters, Da Nang is strategically placed to connect production, distribution, and exports. The 1,881-hectare Free Trade Zone and Da Nang International Financial Centre are expected to attract global investors.
Reportedly, Viettel Post has begun building an 8.6-hectare logistics centre in Lien Chieu Industrial Park, worth over VND 722 billion, featuring automated sorting systems to serve Central Vietnam’s e-commerce and production networks.
