Exhibition highlights grace of Co Tu women’s jewelry at Da Nang Museum
DNO - An exhibition featuring the unique beauty of Co Tu women’s jewelry is taking place at the Da Nang Museum.
The event aims to mark the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930 - 2025) and Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20).
For the Co Tu people, jewelry is not only for beauty, but also a symbol of faith and strength. The jewelry is worn by Co Tu women during village festivals and traditional dances, expressing both cultural pride and feminine charm.
The exhibition features copper tube bracelets, necklaces and wristlets made from agate. In particular, the blood-red diamond-shaped beads are both jewelry and a sacred wedding gift, symbolizing lasting love, and helping people avoid evil spirits, diseases and maintain health.
The display offers visitors a glimpse into the spiritual and cultural life of Co Tu women, both past and present.
Meanwhile, the Da Nang Library is showcasing a themed book collection titled “Women and the Journey of Self-Development.”
