An Nhan Gallery in Hoi An showcases Vietnam’s ethnic crafts
DNO - Hidden in Hoi An, the An Nhan – Exquisite Cultural Gallery & Coffee celebrates Vietnam’s ethnic heritage through handcrafted art, traditional materials, and stories of artisans across the nation.

Nestled behind a rustic wooden gate in Con Nhan nipa palm hamlet in Cam Thanh (now Hoi An Dong Ward, Da Nang), An Nhan – Exquisite Cultural Gallery & Coffee stands as a living archive of Vietnam’s diverse cultural heritage.
Founded in 2017 by couple Le Anh Kiet and Le Thi Thanh Giang, the gallery began with a simple wish: to honour traditional craftsmanship and share the artistry of Vietnam’s ethnic communities.
Their journey started after an encounter with a M’nong artisan shaping pottery by hand. “We were amazed by the skill and deeply proud of such a unique cultural expression,” Kiet recalled.
That moment inspired countless trips across Vietnam, from highland villages to remote craft hamlets, where artisans quietly preserved age-old techniques.
From that passion emerged An Nhan, a space where craft meets culture, and heritage is retold through creativity.

The centerpiece of the gallery is a traditional Tay stilt house, meticulously reconstructed over six months and transported from the North Central region.
Inside, more than 100 artifacts from over 20 Vietnamese ethnic groups are displayed with care - from M’nong pottery and Co Tu beaded weaves to Ta Oi brocade and bamboo crafts from the North.
A Thai wooden rice steamer transformed into a lamp, or a pounding mortar turned into a tea table with Central Highlands motifs. These reinterpretations bring traditional crafts into modern life while paying tribute to their origins.
Today, An Nhan has become a vibrant meeting place for artisans and culture enthusiasts in Hoi An. Working with ethnic craft communities across Vietnam, the gallery continues to grow as a hub of creative preservation and cultural exchange.
“Our dream is to one day present traditional crafts from all 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam”, Giang said.
Rain or shine, An Nhan opens its doors daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., welcoming those who seek the beauty of traditional craftsmanship where every creation is a fragment of Vietnam’s cultural mosaic and every encounter tells a story of passion that never fades.
