Da Nang targets CIS tourists to boost international arrival growth
DNO - As part of the Da Nang International Tourism Festival 2025, the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a seminar on Friday to seek solutions to attract visitors from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

At the seminar, tourism officials and travel businesses proposed some solutions to attract visitors from the CIS market in the coming time. Included were developing products and services suitable to tourists' tastes, expanding direct flight routes between Da Nang and CIS countries, and promoting the city’s tourism image on international media platforms.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, praised Da Nang's efforts in expanding and maintaining the CIS tourist market in recent times.
He emphasized that the CIS market not only brought high-quality visitors with longer stays but also helped diversify Vietnam’s international tourist base.
He affirmed that the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism will continue to accompany and support localities, including Da Nang, in advertising destinations, connecting airlines and fostering cooperation with strategic partners in the CIS region, aiming for sustainable growth in 2026 and the years to come.

On the occasion, the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, and Yango Ads Vietnam - a company specializing in advertising technology, entered into a cooperation agreement on destination promotion.
This deal aimed to apply modern advertising data and technology to enhance Da Nang’s visibility and appeal to travelers from the CIS region.
In the first 9 months of 2025, Da Nang welcomed 14.4 million overnight guests, a 22% year-on-year increase. Of these, international arrivals reached 5.8 million, up over 31%.
The CIS market (mainly Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) reached more than 250,000 visitors, accounting for 4.17% of the city’s total international arrivals.
In 2025, direct charter flights from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to Da Nang have been launched, with a total frequency of 16 flights per week. These air routes have created favorable conditions for travelers and contributed to promoting growth from this market.
