PM attends ground-breaking ceremony for school in Da Nang’s mountainous commune
DNO - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on Thursday, attended the ground-breaking ceremony for a Boarding and Semi-Boarding Primary and Junior High School in Tay Giang Commune, Da Nang.
Speaking at the ceremony, PM Chinh praised Da Nang for its sense of responsibility and great determination for implementing the Politburo’s conclusions by its commitment to constructing six schools in border communes in 2025 and completing these projects in 2026.
The government leader called on the army, local authorities, enterprises, and the public to join hands in building schools in border areas.
He emphasized that the new schools must be adequately equipped with language and computer classrooms, along with cultural spaces that allow pupils to learn, practice, and preserve their national cultural identity. At the same time, they should meet the standards of quality, modernity, and sustainability to ensure favorable conditions for long-term learning in mountainous areas.
Alongside infrastructure development, the PM particularly stressed the need to enhance teaching and learning quality, aiming for the comprehensive development of pupils.
He urged teachers to continuously improve and update their knowledge, while teaching methods should be renewed in align with practical realities and consistent with the Party’s and State’s orientations and policies on education reform.
He expressed his belief and expectation that Tay Giang Commune will develop comprehensively, quickly and sustainably in the coming time.
At the event, PM Chinh presented gifts to encourage pupils and people of Tay Giang Commune. Units and businesses also sponsored funds for boarding and semi-boarding primary and secondary schools through the municipal People's Committee.
In his remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Pham Duc An stated that Da Nang was committed to making every effort to implement the project on schedule, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency. The city also pledged to deliver a well-constructed facility and put the school into operation soon to serve local pupils.
He noted the city will direct relevant agencies and localities to make the best preparations for the early commencement of construction on the remaining schools, ensuring the timely completion of the set plans and objectives.
The Tay Giang Boarding and Semi-Boarding Primary and Junior High School will be built on an area of 71,687m2 at a total cost of about VND 262 billion.
It will feature classrooms, dormitories for pupils and teachers, a library, a canteen, a multifunctional hall, and synchronous technical infrastructure system.
The project is expected to comprise a three-story academic and administrative building; a three-story boarding block for primary pupils; a three-story boarding block for junior high school pupils; three-story and one-story staff and teacher accommodation blocks; a two-story kitchen and dining block; a one-story multi-purpose hall; a one-story library; and a one-story cultural house.
Additionally, there will be a 25 x 40m mini football field; a one-story wastewater treatment and waste storage facility; a one-story security guard house; a one-story parking area for teachers; and a one-story parking area for pupils.
