On Saturday, nearly 40 tons of relief goods including bottled water, instant noodles, bread, milk, medicines, vacuum-sealed ‘banh chung’ (sticky rice cake) and other necessities were gathered and transported from the transit point near the Tuy Loan - Hoa Lien Expressway to Bac Ninh Province, one of the localities hardest hit by storm No. 11 (Matmo).

The relief program saw the participation of numerous charity groups and individuals, including ‘Chuyen Xe Van Tinh’ (Trip of Love) and ‘Banh Mi 0 Dong’ (Zero-dong Bread) clubs.

Mr. Ho Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Trip of Love CLub said this was the second shipment we had organized to support northern localities affected by storms and floods.

“After our call for support, many kind-hearted individuals joined hands. Some sent money to buy supplies, others directly helped transport goods. Within just one day of mobilization, the collection point was filled with relief items" he added.

After the trip to Bac Ninh, the charity clubs in the city will shift their focus from ready-to-eat food to essential recovery supplies such as rice, cleaning tools, and equipment to help residents overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

Meanwhile, the kitchen of the Phan Duc Charity Club in Dong Duong Commune has been bustling.

With the message “The North calls, the Central region is ready - Stay strong, Northern Vietnam”, club members have prepared 400 jars of cured pork in fish sauce and 400 jars of bean salt to send to the flood-stricken areas. The funding for the effort came from donations by volunteer groups and kind-hearted citizens citywide.

More than just in-kind aid, these heartfelt efforts reflect the compassion and solidarity of Da Nang’s people, bringing warmth and hope to those in need amid the storm.
