Son Tra Peninsula welcomes thousands of visitors after reopening 3 scenic routes
DNO - Da Nang’s iconic Son Tra Peninsula has seen a surge in visitor numbers following the reopening of 3 popular sightseeing routes in September, after nearly 2 years of closure due to landslides caused by heavy rains in late 2022.

According to the Son Tra Eco-tourism and Sea Board, the reopened routes include Tien Sa - Suoi Om - Ban Co Peak; Ban Co Peak - Bai Bac; Bai Bac intersection - Heritage Banyan Tree.
These trails are among the most scenic on the peninsula, offering panoramic views of the sea, lush forests and the city below.
The Tien Sa - Suoi Om - Ban Co Peak route allows access by mountain bikes, manual-transmission motorbikes (excluding scooters or automatic motorbikes) and on foot.
The Ban Co Peak - Bai Bac section permits one-way traffic from the peak downhill, excluding bicycles (road and mountain bikes), scooters and vehicles with more than 24 seats.

Meanwhile, the Bai Bac intersection - Heritage Banyan Tree route is open only for walking, sightseeing and eco-friendly excursions.
Authorities remind visitors to strictly follow conservation guidelines: avoiding feeding wildlife, littering, cutting trees, or lighting fires in forested areas.
Filming or flying drones in restricted or defense zones requires official permission.

Unauthorized trekking paths leading to Huc Lo, Mui Nghe and Bai Da Den remain off-limits for safety and environmental reasons.
With its rich biodiversity and dramatic landscapes, the Son Tra Peninsula continues to be one of Da Nang’s most treasured natural attractions, where sustainable tourism efforts now go hand in hand with preserving its pristine beauty.
As reported, after the reopening of the 3 sightseeing routes, the Son Tra Peninsula recorded 4,740 visitors from September 16 to 30, marking a 24.6% increase compared with the first half of September 2025. Of these, international arrivals reached 1,370, up 70% over the previous period.
