Young creator actively promotes Vietnamese culture through lens
DNO - Nowadays, young people actively spread the beauty of their homeland in many new and creative ways. They become cultural bridges, bringing Vietnamese culture closer to the public, especially their peers. A Hue native Dao Huu Quy, 32, is among them.

After quitting his accounting job in Ho Chi Minh City, Quy returned to his hometown of Hue and found a new path as an ‘Ao Dai model’.
When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, he spent quiet time reminiscing about his childhood memories, kindling the desire to connect the traditional culture with modern life.
Quy started his creative journey with Hue cuisine because he noticed that many people often associate the city with familiar dishes such as 'bun bo' (beef noodle soup), 'com hen' (clam rice), or 'banh loc' (tapioca dumplings).
Realizing the great power of social media, Quy and his colleagues began producing short videos showcasing unique Hue dishes, such as 'banh duc mat' (molasses rice cake), 'banh loc chien' (fried tapioca dumplings), 'banh canh bot lon' (thick noodle soup), and 'banh ep' (crispy pressed pancake).
In addition, he created videos recording traditional craft activities such as making 'banh kho me' (sesame rice cakes), 'Ong Cong Ong Tao' offerings, fish sauce production, and even 'fish-sauce coffee' brewing. His storytelling style is gentle and elegant, carried by his signature sweet Hue accent.
The more you watch Dao Huu Quy's channel, the more you enjoy the way this young man preserves and promotes the beauty of his homeland's culture.
Not only in the role of a narrator, he immerses himself in the lives of artisans and workers, allowing the audience to feel the warmth and authenticity of Hue through every frame.
Quy does not stop at filming but also listens and empathizes with the craftsmen’s stories, their hardships, and their hopes of keeping traditional trades alive.
Over the past three years, Quy's TikTok channel has attracted more than 115,000 followers and more than 1.4 million likes. Taking advantage of the development of technology, content creators like Quy have become "cultural ambassadors", contributing to advertising Vietnamese culture to audiences worldwide.
In the wave of global integration and development, Vietnamese youth are constantly exploring and affirming their national cultural identity, creating a diverse and rich cultural picture.
