According to Hoi An Dong authorities, on September 11, 2025, Forbes announced its list of the world’s 50 most beautiful villages, ranking Cam Thanh 20th and the only Vietnamese village included.

Cam Thanh sits at the confluence of three rivers (Thu Bon, Truong Giang, and Lo Canh) and the East Sea, creating a rare brackish-water ecosystem and serving as the buffer zone of the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An Biosphere Reserve, acting as a “green lung” that regulates the climate of Hoi An.

Cam Thanh is also renowned for its nearly 100-hectare Bay Mau nipa palm forest, a unique mangrove ecosystem.

Chairman of the Hoi An ward People’s Committee Tran Tan Dung said the recognition of Cam Thanh as one of the world's most beautiful villages brings pride to locals, boosts Da Nang’s global tourism reputation, and supports its vision as a “green - heritage -sustainable” destination.
