Marvell opens new office in Da Nang
DNO - The US Marvell Technology, Inc. opened its new office in Da Nang on Wednesday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi stated that Marvell has been recognized by the municipal People's Council as a strategic partner in the semiconductors field under Resolution No. 19/NQ-HDND dated April 26, 2025.
She noted that Marvell's decision to open a new office in Da Nang, along with two others simultaneously opened in Vietnam, demonstrated the company’s long-term commitment and trust in the city’s investment environment and its potential for high-tech development.
Mrs. Thi also informed that, in recent times, Da Nang has been implementing synchronous solutions to build a high-tech ecosystem, in which semiconductors has been identified as a spearhead for the city's growth in the coming time.
Regarding enterprise development, the number of semiconductor design firms has grown from about eight in the early stages to 25 today.
In 2024, 8 universities and colleges in the city enrolled a total of 600 students majoring in the semiconductors industry, and the number is expected to rise to about 1,000 students in 2025.
Also, the city has approved a project on developing the semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI) industries, as well as issued three important resolutions on human resource development, incentive mechanisms and business support policies.
It goal is to become one of Vietnam’s three leading centers in semiconductors and AI by 2030, with a comprehensive and synchronous innovation ecosystem and at least 5,000 high-quality human resources in the field.
Vice Chairwoman Thi emphasized that the abovementioned policies and achievements reflected Da Nang’s demonstration and aspirations, gradually affirming its position as a reliable investment destination for domestic and international high-tech enterprises.
She affirmed that the city will always accompany and create the most favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, infrastructure, and human resources to support Marvell in particular and the high-tech business community, especially those involving in semiconductors, in general.
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in the United States, Marvell is now one of the global leaders in semiconductor design and data infrastructure, ranking among the top 10 largest companies in this field.
The company's market capitalization is approximately US$ 54 billion and its total number of employees are approximately 7,000 working in 20 countries around the world.
Marvell Vietnam was established in 2013 with more than 500 employees working in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang offices. The company’s workforce in Vietnam grows at an annual rate of around 20%.
Marvell Vietnam has been closely cooperating with the Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training (DSAC) and universities nationwide on training programs, including scholarships, internships, curriculum development, and technical seminars.
