Da Nang on way to becoming international city
DNO - With its geographical advantages and strategic development vision, Da Nang is increasingly asserting its position on the international integration map.

After nearly three decades of becoming a centrally-governed city, Da Nang has affirmed its place as one of Vietnam’s most dynamic urban centers.
The city boasts two seaports, two airports, and an increasingly developed logistics system, facilitating international trade.
Its industrial structure is shifting towards modernization, with focus on information technology, high-tech, microchips, semiconductors and artificial intelligence industries.
Also, the city has been named among the country’s leading group in provincial competitiveness index, administrative reform index, information technology application index, smart city building, and digital transformation for many consecutive years.
Widely recognized as a “livable city” associated with the "5 No's, 3 Yes's" campaign and "The City of 4 Safe Programmes", Da Nang is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for both domestic and foreign experts and investors.
Thanks to its strategic geostrategic position, Da Nang is increasingly asserting its role in international integration through vibrant diplomatic activities.

In particular, during the 2020 - 2025 period, the city welcomed more than 3,000 international delegations, including many heads of state and high-ranking visits, including Japanese Crown Prince Fumihito Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko.
These visits not only strengthened external relations between Da Nang and its partners but also provided an opportunity to attract foreign investment resources and enhance the city’s position and image in the international arena.
Up to now, Da Nang has established cooperative ties with 60 localities across 24 countries and territories, with 120 cooperation agreements signed. Many cooperation programs have brought practical results.
Over the past 5 years, the city has been a bright spot for foreign investment, with 797 FDI projects totaling over US$ 1.07 billion.
Notably, the operation of the Nam Giang - Dac Ta Ooc international border gate pair has opened the shortest trade route, creating a strong driving force for the regional economy and the East - West Economic Corridor.
By 2030, the city targets to be firmly positioned on the world map as an international financial center, a free trade zone, a destination for leading technology corporations, and the “heart” of the global heritage journey.
However, the path ahead still poses many challenges. Therefore, the city leaders call on continued support from the Government, central ministries, and the international community in this new phase of growth.
