From warehouse accident to breakthrough AI innovation

At the InnoEx Business Innovation Forum 2025 held in Ho Chi Minh City in late August under the theme “Shaping the Future Economy: From Data to Digital Assets”, Rainscales secured the first prize of $100,000 in the prestigious competition, marking a significant step for both the company and Vietnam’s growing innovation ecosystem as a whole.

The winning project, eMagicEyes (EME), is an advanced AI Vision platform that turns cameras from passive “recording tools” into proactive “early-action systems”.

Instead of simply monitoring, EME identifies risks such as falls, falling objects or missing safety helmets, then issues instant alerts and suggests preventive actions.

This enables workplaces to reduce accidents, cut operational costs and improve safety standards across industries including manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, construction, and food services.

With over 20 years of experience in the U.S. and Japan, AI & Robotics expert Tran Manh Huy, together with specialists in computer vision, healthcare, industry, and occupational safety, conceived this product idea in 2022, inspired by real-world experience at a logistics warehouse.

Taking “Made in Vietnam” technology global

What sets EME apart is its ability to leverage existing CCTV and telecom infrastructure, making deployment faster and more cost-efficient. The platform also learns directly on site, becoming smarter with use.

Its core technologies, Computer Vision, Generative AI, and Edge AI, have already been tested in warehouses, factories, hospitals, and F&B chains in Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and the United States, showing measurable impact in reducing workplace accidents.

In the near future, Rainscales aims to expand its technology into healthcare, logistics, and smart city solutions. The company plans to showcase its products at international exhibitions, export technology to Japan, attract investment and align with ISO 45001 safety standards, leveraging Vietnam’s startup ecosystem for sustainable growth.

With its breakthrough at QVIC 2025, Rainscales is carrying Da Nang’s startup spirit onto the global stage, proving that technology born in Vietnam can change the world of work.

Since its launch in 2019, QVIC has fostered innovative startups by providing technical support, business coaching, intellectual property training, mentorship and patent filing incentives.
