Da Nang expects to “reconnect” major tourist markets

DNO - From now until the end of the year, many air routes to Da Nang are expected to be resumed and launched. This is a positive signal for the city's tourism market in the last months of the year and to welcome 2026.

According to the latest statistics, in September 2025 alone, the total number of domestic and international flights to Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport is estimated to reach more than 3,900, up 29.5% compared to the same period in 2024, welcoming over 589,000 passengers, a rise of 24.2%. The average frequency was 130 flights/day.

This result brought the total number of domestic and international flights to Da Nang and Chu Lai airports to over 35,000 with more than 5.79 million passengers, up 12.5% ​​and 13.1% respectively.

Of the figures, there were 15,000 international flights, up 4.4%, and 20,500 domestic flights, up 20.6%. International passenger volume surpassed 2.52 million (up 9.6%), while domestic arrivals exceeded 3.3 million (up 17.86%).

Currently, Da Nang has 18 regular international routes, including Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Taipei - Kaohsiung (Taiwan, China), Macau (China), Hong Kong (China), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Incheon - Busan - Daegu - Cheongju (South Korea), Narita - Osaka (Japan), Manila (the Philippines), Ahmedabad (India), Yangon (Myanmar), and Dubai.

There are also four long-term charter routes: Astana and Almaty (Kazakhstan) with 14 flights per week (operated by Vietjet Air, Scat Airlines, and Air Astana); Tashkent (Uzbekistan) with 2 flights per week (operated by Qanot Sharq); and Macau (China) with 14 flights per week (operated by Bamboo Airways and Vietjet Air).

This year, the city has recorded new routes from the Middle East (especially from Dubai), connecting Da Nang with many destinations in Europe and the US, along with additional air routes from Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan (China) and South Korea, and new routes from Myanmar and CIS countries.

According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, a number of new air routes are set to be resumed or launched in the coming time.

In particular, in October, China Southern Airlines plans to operate charter flights from Shenzhen (China) to Da Nang (6 flights).

Meanwhile, new airline Parata Airlines plans to operate flights connecting Incheon (South Korea) with Da Nang, and Vietjet Air to operate flights between Kuala Lumpur and Da Nang (expected 7 flights/week).

"This is a very optimistic signal for Da Nang to attract more tourist, especially Chinese tourists again", Chairman of the municipal Tourism Association Cao Tri Dung shared.
