On September 19 and 20, the volunteer group “Frames of Hope”, made up of doctors, benefactors, and young volunteers in Da Nang, organized the program “Lights of the Forest, Lights of Humanity” in the Aur Village. They offered free medical check-ups, food, gifts, and festive Mid-Autumn activities to the village’s children.
To reach Aur, the volunteers had to travel more than 100km of winding mountain roads and trek nearly 18km of forest trails. The path was rugged, with sections hugging cliffs and crossing deep streams.

“We know life here is tough. People rarely get regular health check-ups. Seeing the peace of mind in their eyes during the consultations made every hardship worthwhile,” said Dr. Tra Trong Tan from the city-based Thien Nhan Hospital.
At nightfall, the silence of the forest was broken by the sound of drums as lion dances began. Volunteers handed out colorful lanterns and mooncakes, drawing smiles from children unaccustomed to such celebrations.

Head of Aur Village A Ting Del said “The children are overjoyed. We are deeply grateful to the volunteers for bringing both healthcare and Mid-Autumn gifts. We hope they will return in the future”.
The “Lights of the Forest, Lights of Humanity” program fostered solidarity and compassion, giving Aur’s children a fulfilling Mid-Autumn celebration and a rare sense of hope on the border.
Aur, home to just 23 households of the Co Tu ethnic group with nearly 200 residents, is among the most remote communities in A Vuong Commune. The village has no phone signal and lies far from schools and medical facilities.
