Da Nang: Vietnam’s coastal gem through lens of cinema
DNO - With stunning beaches, rivers, and mountains, Da Nang is fast becoming a favorite film destination, offering filmmakers unique landscapes and modern infrastructure.

In recent years, several high-profile films have brought Da Nang to international screens, including The Protégé (2021), Taxi Driver 2 (2023), and A Tourist’s Guide to Love (2023).
Each location, from urban settings to pristine natural scenery, provides filmmakers with visually striking and emotionally resonant backdrops.
At the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF III), the Vietnam-India co-production Love in Vietnam captured global attention. With a production budget of $4 million, the film showcases Vietnam for 75% of its runtime.
Notably, Tàya House, a Northwest-inspired restaurant at Furama Resort, served as a key filming location, leaving lasting impressions on audiences.
Following this success, production of ‘Nha minh thoi di’ began in July at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, featuring additional iconic sites such as Nam O fishing village, Ghenh Bang Beach, Hoa Bac countryside and Hoi An ancient town.
Director Tran Dinh Hien, a native of Da Nang, noted: “Da Nang is a natural ‘mega film studio,’ offering rivers, beaches, luxury resorts, traditional villages, and preserved historical streets rich in cultural heritage”.
Michael Casey, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, emphasized that the film communicates both the resort’s beauty and the essence of Central Vietnam, a land of heritage, emotion, and connection.
Films like these provide authentic cinematic perspectives, inviting global audiences to explore the region.
Nguyen Du Quynh, Vice President of the Da Nang Tourism Association, highlighted that using culturally rich and visually stunning locations reinforces Vietnam’s strength in combining tourism with cinema.
In her opinion, Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, the Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, stressed that supporting film productions and international influencers is key to promoting Da Nang globally, ensuring the city reaches audiences worldwide with a fresh, cinematic appeal.
