Da Nang to attract 8,000 semiconductor, AI experts by 2030
DNO - Da Nang has unveiled an ambitious plan to attract at least 5,000 professionals in semiconductors and 3,000 in artificial intelligence (AI) over the next 5 years.

The city is also expanding its talent recruitment policies to high-quality sectors including logistics, healthcare, and international finance.
This move reflects Da Nang’s determination to secure top-tier human resources to support its economic development priorities.
Candidates with outstanding expertise, including former directors, senior engineers, or managers at leading semiconductor and AI companies with global revenues above VND 2,500 billion, are particularly encouraged to join.
The city’s policies are designed not only to offer competitive incentives but also to provide an environment fostering research, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, stressed that by 2030, the city aims to become one of Vietnam’s three major semiconductor centers.
Achieving this goal requires a comprehensive talent training network integrated with a fully developed semiconductor ecosystem.
To bring this vision to life, Da Nang is forging partnerships with top universities, research institutes and leading corporations to create cutting-edge training programmes that nurture the next generation of high-tech talent.
The city is also expanding international partnerships, inviting global tech firms to participate in training and technology transfer.
Experts note that young professionals prioritize long-term career development and participation in globally significant projects over immediate salaries or bonuses.
With a robust ecosystem connecting specialists, academia, research institutes, and industry, Da Nang seeks to become a magnet for domestic and overseas Vietnamese scientists and high-tech professionals.
In this context, high-quality human resources are considered a strategic asset. Da Nang's approach ensures it attracts the right talent to the right sectors at the right time, including short-term contracts for experts returning from abroad.
