Projects by Da Nang students gain international recognition
DNO - With five outstanding projects honored at the International PBL Expo 2025 recently held in Indonesia, including 2 first , 2 second and 1 Best Visualization prizes, students from Da Nang-based Duy Tan University once again affirmed the talent, creativity and confidence of Vietnamese youth in the international academic arena.

The most prominent is the project "Vietnamese AI Assistant for Hearing-impaired People" by the ViSTAR team which won the first prize.
This is a system that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision to translate sign language into text in real time and vice versa, creating an effective communication bridge between hearing-impaired individuals and the wider community.
By enabling two-way translation through video frames, the project opens new opportunities for social inclusion and everyday interactions.
Also winning the first prize, the project “VIE AGV Omni Wheel Robot” by the VIE AGV Omni team impresses judges with its practical applications in smart logistics.
Designed as an autonomous guided vehicle (AGV), the robot automates material transportation in warehouses and industrial facilities. It can carry loads up to 300 kilograms and operate continuously for eight hours after a single charge.
The two projects “Recognition and Control of Robot Hand Gestures using YOLOv5” and “SkyStudy learning app for children” were awarded the second prizes.
Accordingly, the “Recognition and Control of Robot Hand Gestures using YOLOv5” project applies the control of hand-shaped robots in hazardous, high-temperature environments that are difficult for humans to access.
Meanwhile, the “SkyStudy” learning app offers a playful yet effective way for children aged 6 to 12 to learn English, using object recognition and pronunciation to create an engaging educational experience.

The Blossoming Symphony - Thuy Lien Khai Hoa Tra project won over the judges with its aesthetic appeal and health message, presenting a caffeine-free herbal tea designed to promote relaxation and well-being.
