How Da Nang builds brand as leading event city
DNO - Da Nang has long affirmed its position as Vietnam’s leading destination for events and festivals.
Since hosting the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) for the first time in 2008, the city has successfully built a signature summer festival brand that draws visitors at both home and abroad. DIFF has become not only a “magnet” in term of image but also an international cultural product.
In addition, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) has created a new highlight, building the city’s own brand on the cinema map.
As one of the few international film festivals in Vietnam, DANAFF is highly appreciated by experts and international media agencies. After three successful editions, the festival gradually shapes its reputation and aims to become a rendezvous for Asian cinema.
Water sports, conference activities, and cultural tourism also play a big role in affirming Da Nang’s stature as an event city. The city has hosted international tournaments such as VinFast IRONMAN 70.3, International Marathon, major performances, and the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
Not only outstanding in the number and scale of events, Da Nang also boasts a modern, synchronous infrastructure system which is capable of meeting the requirements of international events.
According to recent statistics, Da Nang is currently in the top of the country in the number of 4-to-5-star accommodation establishments.
It is also home to numerous international entertainment destinations, such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, VinWonders Nam Hoi An, Hoi An Impression Theme Park, and Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park.
Moreover, the system of golf courses, international convention centers, and modern seaports and airports are the city’s outstanding advantages in attracting events, tourists and investors.
Notably, the launch of the Dubai - Bangkok - Da Nang air route since June 2025 has created significant opportunities for high-end tourism growth.
With these advantages, Da Nang continues to affirm its position as a leading event and festival destination in Asia, ranking among the world’s 50 most attractive cities. Meanwhile, Hoi An was named the 6th most attractive city globally in 2025, and Da Nang led the country in the Provincial Tourism Development Index (PTI) in 2024.
Da Nang - A destination for large-scale events
In just the first 8 months of 2025, Da Nang has continuously hosted many large-scale events, including the City Partnership Forum - Da Nang 2025, the Asian Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) 2025, the HorecFex Vietnam 2025, the Da Nang Venture and Angel Summit (DAVAS) 2025, and the Da Nang Finance and Tech Week 2025.
The city has also been chosen by many units to organize large-scale art performances such as the fashion show “Where Fireworks Shine – Paint My Love” by VUNGOC&SON and the Legend Fest music festival.
