Da Nang calls for Japanese enterprises to invest in FTZ

During his reception for the Japanese guest, Vice Chairman Cuong expressed his delight at the increasingly consolidated and expanded cooperation between Da Nang and Japanese localities.

He cited that Da Nang has so far signed Memoranda of Understanding to establish official friendship and cooperation ties with 6 Japanese localities, namely Kawasaki, Sakai, Yokohama, Kisarazu, Nagasaki and Kinokawa. Japan currently ranks first in investment capital in the city, with 280 projects worth over US$ 1.28 billion.

On the foundation, the city leader expressed his hope that Mr. Tsuruho Yousuke, in his role as Secretary-General of the Japan - Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance, will continue to act as a bridge to further strengthen the partnership.

He also called on the senator to support the mobilization of resources for Da Nang’s development, and at the same time to encourage Japanese enterprises to explore more investment opportunities in the city’s priority aspects, especially the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and the International Finance Center (IFC).

In addition, Mr. Cuong proposed that both sides continue to maintain and expand cultural exchange activities, typically the annual Vietnam - Japan Festival and the Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange Program, as well as to strengthen student and youth volunteer exchange programs between universities and youth organizations of the two countries.

For his part, Senator Tsuruho Yousuke affirmed his priority on ​​cultural exchanges and human resource training between Da Nang and Japanese localities, especially human resources for specific industries such as technology and cyber security.

He emphasized that in the coming time, Japanese localities will continue to closely coordinate with Da Nang to enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges, thereby creating momentum for further investment cooperation in many fields.
