Chairman An briefed the guest on Da Nang’s socio-economic progress, highlighting the opportunities created by Vietnam’s new two-tier local government model.

He stressed the city’s ambition to become a green urban center, a hub for high technology, an international financial center and a free trade zone.

Tourism remains a key strength, with Da Nang affirming itself as an attractive destination in the region. In the first 6 months of 2025, the city welcomed more than 8.6 million overnight tourists. Of this, the number of travellers from Thailand accounted for a significant proportion.

The Da Nang government chief expressed the city’s desire to expand cooperation with Thai localities and called on the Consul General to act as a bridge for trade and investment promotion, particularly in sectors where Thailand holds advantages.

At the same time, he expressed his hope that the two sides will further promote cooperation in sharing experiences in tourism development and promoting destinations between Da Nang and localities of Thailand.

The Da Nang administration has affirmed its commitment to providing the best possible conditions and promptly addressing any obstacles faced by Thai businesses investing and operating in Da Nang.

For her part, Ms. Moodhitaporn thanked the city for the warm welcome. She praised Da Nang’s strong economic growth and welcomed its designation as the site of an international financial center and free trade zone, describing them as key foundations for future breakthroughs.

Recalling the “Meet Thailand in Da Nang” event held in 2024, she noted Thai businesses’ growing interest in the city.

She proposed strengthening direct air connectivity between Thailand and Da Nang and expanding cooperation in supply chains, SME support, local economic linkages and artificial intelligence.

She also expressed hope for favorable policies to attract Thai and international investors, particularly in retail, construction, energy, education, and training.
