Da Nang University of Foreign Language Studies celebrates 40 years of establishment and growth
DNO - The Da Nang University of Foreign Language Studies - the University of Da Nang held a ceremony on Thursday to celebrate its 40th anniversary of establishment and development (1985 - 2025).

Attending the event were Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Tan Dung, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council Doan Ngoc Hung Anh, and Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of the University of Da Nang, congratulated the University of Foreign Language Studies on 40 years of establishment and development.
He emphasized that the new stage was a great opportunity for the university to make breakthrough strides.
He, therefore, stressed the need for the university to build a development strategy to become one of Vietnam’s leading institutions in language training, aiming for regional and world level, thereby significantly contributing to the country’s integration and growth.
To achieve that goal, the university was urged to enhance the quality of training to satisfy the requirements of the global labor market, promote student affairs and international cooperation, develop a team of highly qualified lecturers, and innovate university governance associated with digital transformation.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Rector of the University of Foreign Language Studies, the institution has been constantly innovating its training model, building a dynamic academic ecosystem, and pioneering the application of information technology in teaching.
These efforts have affirmed the university’s solid professional position and highlighted its social responsibility, contributing to spreading knowledge and training high-quality human resources for the nation.
In the coming time, all cadres, civil servants, employees and students will constantly strive for unity and growth, and make the university a major institution in the Central Highlands region and Vietnam.
On the occasion, the university was honored with a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements in training, plus an Emulation Flag from the People's Committee of Da Nang in recognition of its 40 years of development.
Many collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Director of the University of Da Nang.
On April 11, 1985, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a Decision to establish the Da Nang Foreign Language Education School. It was tasked with training human resources to meet the requirements of integration and economic and social development of Central Vietnam.
Over the past 40 years, the university has grown to offer 17 undergraduate programs with 29 majors, six master’s programs, and three doctoral programs, with nearly 8,000 students, postgraduates, and researchers.
Its staff consists of 325 people, of which 27% of lecturers hold doctoral degrees.
