Da Nang karate fighter takes silver at Asian Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships 2025

DNO - Nguyen Thi Man, a karate fighter from Da Nang, has just won a silver medal at the Asian Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships in 2025.

Taking place in China’s Shaoguan from September 5 - 7, the 23rd Asian Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships in 2025 attracted 489 athletes from 29 countries and territories across the region.

With a total of 11 athletes, Vietnam’s Karate team achieved two gold and five silver medals, and finished in 5th place.

The two gold medals went to Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly (U21 women’s kumite, 55kg) and Tran Thi Cam Tu (U21 women’s kumite, 59kg).

Meanwhile, Nguyen Mai Quynh (youth girls’ individual kata), Bui Ngoc Nhi (junior girls’ individual kata), the junior girls’ team kata, Hoang Thi Thu Uyen (U21 women’s individual kata), and Nguyen Thi Man (U21 women’s kumite, 68kg) captured silver medals.

Among the silver medal winners, Nguyen Thi Man stood out as Da Nang’s representative. She had already made her mark by winning a gold medal at the 2025 Southeast Asian Karate Championship.

Vietnam’s karate team will continue to prepare for the upcoming major competitions, including the 33rd SEA Games in December in Thailand.

Before that, 10 key athletes are expected to compete at the World Karate Championship in France to gain valuable experience.
