Along major roads such as Phan Chau Trinh, Huynh Thuc Khang, and Tran Cao Van in Tam Ky Ward, Da Nang, vibrant booths have been set up, offering mooncakes from well-known brands like Kinh Do, Bibica and Dong Khanh.
This year, the market is abundant with products, ranging from classic flavours to premium gift sets. According to Ai My, who runs a Kinh Do stall on Phan Chau Trinh Street, high-end collections are proving popular.
“A box of four mooncakes with tea and a festive greeting card is priced from VND 500,000 to 1.5 million. Besides retail, many companies are purchasing in bulk as corporate gifts,” she explained.
While demand is strong, prices are higher than in previous years, largely due to rising costs of ingredients. “Even at the start of the season, customers have already come to buy and taste,” said Nguyen Thi Ngoc, a vendor on Huynh Thuc Khang Street.
She added that competition among brands is fierce, with packaging and design becoming increasingly elaborate to attract consumers.
Alongside the commercial bustle, traditional craft villages are also alive with activity. In An Lac Village, Duy Nghia Commune, Da Nang small family-run bakeries like Loi Pho are busy producing mung bean, coconut, sesame, and rice cakes.

“Our products may not look as glossy as factory-made mooncakes, but they are preservative-free, made from clean ingredients, and trusted by loyal customers,” said owner Huynh Anh.
Local authorities highlight that An Lac, with 10 active households, is preserving its decades-old heritage while gradually investing in modern equipment to improve quality and output.
Meanwhile, Da Nang’s Market Management Unit is stepping up inspections to ensure food safety and prevent counterfeit or substandard mooncakes from entering the market.
As lanterns light up the streets and mooncakes fill shop windows, Da Nang’s Mid-Autumn season captures both modern consumer vibrancy and cherished traditional flavours.
