Da Nang breaks ground on resettlement area serving high-speed railway project

DNO - Construction started on a resettlement area serving the North-South high-speed railway project in Dien Ban Bac Ward, Da Nang on Tuesday.

The project is part of the sub-project on compensation and resettlement for the North-South high-speed railway from a section of Thu Bon River northward to the end of the boundary of Da Nang. It is classified as group C project and a grade-III technical infrastructure work.

The project will feature 115 resettlement land lots covering a total area of nearly 47,000m². These land lots will be equipped with synchronous infrastructure such as traffic, electricity, water, drainage, lighting, trees, fire prevention and fighting, and telecommunication systems.

The project is expected to cost more than VND 76.1 billion and to be implemented within 15 months.

The project’s investor and manager is the Da Nang Management Board of Traffic and Agricultural Investment and Construction Projects, whilst the contractor is the DACINCO Construction Investment Co.,Ltd.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Phan Thai Binh emphasized that the North-South high-speed railway project, considered to be the dream and aspiration of many generations, gradually became a reality.

He added, once completed, the project will connect across the country, shorten the time, improve transport capacity, reduce pressure on road traffic, and promote sustainable socio-economic development.

At the same time, it reflects the will and strategic vision of the Party and State in the cause of industrialization and modernization.

Upon completion, the project will ensure stable, modern, and civilized housing for affected residents while expanding urban space and creating new momentum for development in the northern area of the city, he noted.

Vice Chairman Binh requested the Da Nang Management Board of Traffic and Agricultural Investment and Construction Projects to uphold a high sense of responsibility, closely follow the progress, and resolutely ensure quality of the project.

He also voiced his hope that residents in the project area will continue to share so that the project can be completed soon, bringing long-term benefits to the community.
