Traditional art of 'Tuong' promoted closer to young audience
DNO - The Da Nang-based Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater has been working to bring the traditional art of ‘Tuong’ (classical drama) closer to young audience through various activities, thereby contributing to preserving and spreading the quintessence of national culture.

Notable among them is the programme “Bringing Tuong to the street" held every Sunday evening on the eastern bank of the Han River Bridge and the western bank of the Dragon Bridge.
Launched in 2017, the programme initially ran from April to September, on Saturday and Sunday each week. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the theater adjusted the schedule to run from March to October.
The purpose of this project is to make 'Tuong' art closer to both locals and tourists.
The special folk stage is increasingly attracting people and tourists thanks to the methodical investment and professional performances of artists from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater.
Since the beginning of the year, there have been more than 10 Tuong performances, each attracting 300-400 spectators at the main stage.

To reach young people, the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater has implemented a project to bring ‘Tuong’ into schools during the 2020 - 2025 period.
After 5 years of implementation, 'Tuong' performances have been well received by pupils in senior and junior high schools, and primary schools.
The Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater has flexibly selected short, easy-to-understand excerpts that are close to modern life but still ensure to preserve the spirit and core values of the art form. Colorful costumes and masks, and traditional props combined with a modern open stage, have created a lively performance space that is easy to access for a large audience.
With creative and decisive steps, Da Nang is pioneering in reviving traditional art with a contemporary breath. This helps both people and tourists have a direct experience, contributing to spreading the unique beauty of 'Tuong' to the wider community.
