Located at an altitude of about 1,700m above sea level, Tra Linh Commune possesses ideal natural conditions for developing Ngoc Linh ginseng. Currently, around 7,000ha in the commune has been earmarked for growing ginseng, making the locality one of the largest ginseng growing areas in the country.
The Vinsam Quang Nam Company Limited has developed a 12ha ginseng garden in Tra Linh Commune, with ginseng roots aged 8-10 years being grown. In the cool space under the canopy of the primeval forest, the ginseng beds bloom and produce bright red seeds.
Most recently, 8 large enterprises, including THACO Group and BRG have signed investment cooperation agreements on developing Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs in Da Nang. This opens up new opportunities for Tra Linh which is known as the "kingdom" of the Ngoc Linh ginseng region.

Once recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as one of the world’s four most precious ginsengs, Ngoc Linh ginseng contains more than 50 rare saponins which help enhance immunity, strengthen health and support the treatment of many chronic diseases.
The development of Ngoc Linh ginseng in Tra Linh is not only the story of a rare plant but also an opportunity to create a distinctive medicinal herb-based economic ecosystem in the mountainous areas west of Da Nang.
By attracting large corporations to invest in the processing and distribution phases, the ginseng region will become a new economic hub associated with the cultural identity, lifestyle and sustainable livelihood of the highland people.
