Da Nang - Ha Noi air route among world’s busiest for July
DNO - The Da Nang - Ha Noi has secured a spot the top 10 busiest domestic routes globally for the first time, according to the latest report from the Official Airline Guide (OAG), a leading aviation data analytics firm.

With nearly 10% year-on-year growth in scheduled seat capacity, the route placed 8th globally, surpassing many traditionally high-traffic routes. It trailed only the Jeddah -Riyadh route in Saudi Arabia in terms of growth rate, which recorded a 16% increase.
The ranking was based on OAG’s Schedules Analyser data, which calculates two-way seat volumes across all scheduled flights in a given month. This milestone highlights the growing appeal of Da Nang as a major tourism destination and reinforces Ha Noi’s role as a strategic hub connecting northern and central Vietnam.
Travel between Da Nang and Ha Noi by road or rail typically takes 14 - 17 hours, making air travel the most time-efficient option. The route now sees dozens of daily flights operated by leading carriers including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and Bamboo Airways.
High frequency and competitive fares, generally ranging from VND 800,000 to 1.5 million (approx. US$ 30 - 60) per leg, have contributed to the route’s rapid rise in popularity. This achievement reflects Vietnam’s dynamic domestic travel demand and the increasing importance of regional air connectivity in supporting economic and tourism growth.
Another Vietnamese route connecting the two largest economic and political hubs, Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, has remained one of the world’s busiest domestic air routes, holding steady at third place in the ranking.
