Da Nang accelerates economic growth, global integration
DNO - In the first half of 2025, Da Nang has emerged as a dynamic hub for economic diplomacy, hosting numerous high-level forums, international events and investment promotion activities.

These efforts have significantly contributed to the city’s GRDP growth and rising foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, solidifying Da Nang's reputation as an attractive, forward-looking destination for global investors.
A key pillar of this transformation is technology diplomacy, a strategic focus identified by city leaders as a breakthrough direction for economic engagement in the new era. Da Nang has proactively reached out to world-leading corporations in high technology, semiconductor manufacturing, and artificial intelligence (AI), inviting them to explore investment and partnership opportunities.
Delegations from the city have conducted targeted investment promotion trips to priority markets including the United States, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As a result, a number of top-tier tech companies, such as Synopsys and Marvell, have established a presence in Da Nang.
As of June 2025, the city was home to 23 semiconductor enterprises. Marvell Vietnam, notably, has become the first foreign-invested firm to be recognized as a strategic partner in AI and semiconductors, setting a powerful precedent for future FDI.
Cumulatively, Da Nang has attracted over 1,260 FDI projects with registered capital exceeding US$10.9 billion. In the first six months of this year alone, 47 new FDI projects were licensed, marking a 14.6% increase year-on-year. The city’s ongoing administrative reforms and proactive investor support policies are credited for this strong performance.

Major international forums such as the City Partnership Forum-Da Nang 2025, Meet Da Nang 2025, and the ASEAN Connect event have further positioned the city as a rising global player. Through these events, Da Nang has not only expanded its diplomatic footprint, establishing ties with cities like Genoa (Italy) and Aktau (Kazakhstan), but also facilitated real investment deals in retail, tourism, and healthcare.
Looking ahead, Da Nang is implementing an ambitious international integration roadmap to 2030, aiming to leverage both internal strengths and global partnerships. With a strong commitment to innovation, openness, and regional leadership, Da Nang is poised to become a key growth engine for Central Vietnam and an influential player in Asia’s evolving economic landscape.
