According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the first flight from Seoul, South Korea, to Da Nang was launched by Asiana Airlines in 2011. This marked the beginning of a journey of exchange and connection between the two destinations. Shortly after, Korean Air joined in, helping South Korea quickly become one of the three largest international markets for Da Nang. Since 2016, South Korea has maintained its position as the leading market.

To date, 12 airlines operate direct flights between South Korea and Da Nang. The total number of flights has increased significantly from 7 to 150 flights per week. This makes South Korea the country with the most extensive international air network to Da Nang.

The opening ceremony of the festival with traditional fashion shows and art programmes of South Korea and Vietnam impressed both locals and tourists.
